The wait is now over! Microsoft released the Creation version of the Remote Server Administration Tool for Windows 10. In case you are interested in checking it out the tools’ launch comes together with Windows Server 2016 Technical Preview 3. A few caveats, RSAT will only work on full versions of Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise and there is not currently any support for Windows RT.. In case you had installed any previous release of the tool before installing this latest version, you’ll need to uninstall it. You could observe that Microsoft left out most of the IP remote server administration tools applications. DHCP management is not included, and MS has said that admins may use Powershell to administer DHCP servers. Hopefully we’ll see this re-added in the not too distant future.
I had a problem getting this to work as I’d Tried installing the Windows 10 RSAT Preview that was non-functional from Windows 10 Enterprise’s production release. As soon as I looked to uninstall it did not appear for me beneath the installed updates. I installed the new version of RSAT but noticed that it was not functioning, and the Remote Server Administration Tool attributes did not look under the Turn Windows attributes on or off menu. I discovered KB 2693643 beneath the Installed Upgrades, uninstalled it, and re-installed the tools. This time the attributes showed up along with the tools were functional under the MMC console.
